It’s just going to get better for us while the browser wars simmer. Of the lot of the popular browsers in the market Google Chrome just popped up.  However, it has a lot going for it.  For instance, it is extremely light weighted, has some cool features and is a pretty mighty one; so much so that it is poised to become a complete operating system all by itself.

Off the bat, I really like the way it loads up quickly within seconds you double-click on it.  I have been using Firefox before Chrome came along but I noticed that although Firefox is still my favorite, it seems to load very slow when I use it on my netbook (is that because it more resource intensive than Chrome or is it because netbook have slower Intel Atom processors?)

Extensions for Google Chrome

Given the extent of time we spend on the Internet – not to mention the various activities we do –no browser can hope to compete without extensions. Internet explorer doesn’t even have any, while Firefox became a household because of it. Firefox’s success is testimony to the fact that extensions can make or break a browser. With a browser like Google Chrome, not having extensions is too impossible a situation to fathom.

Google hence has now thrown the floor open for developers to create extensions for Google Chrome.  By making it really simple and almost automated to upload extensions on to the Google Chrome Extensions Gallery, Google is now very much In the race and the progress is indeed very promising. Google already has a gallery for browser themes and skins which is yet another feather in its cap.

At the time of writing this post, there are already plenty of extensions already. You never know what you might find there that might turn out to be pretty nifty for you. So, will Google Chrome make it to the top of the much desired browser list? Will take head to the top of the race if the extensions are developed and match up with that of Firefox? What do you think about the browser?
