Search engine optimization should not be limited to just your website content. Methods should be included in your images and trust me – it’s just as important!

When you optimize images it can be very beneficial for a number of reasons. When your images are properly optimize, on the main search engine tabs such as Google Images, Yahoo Images and Bing Images – it helps attract and keep visitors to your site.

But how exactly can you optimize image files?

Simple – the name of the image file should be key phrases that you’re aiming to target. Don’t use underscores, instead separate the key phrases with dashes. Also, the key phrases should be added in an image ALT attribute and title tags. You want to keep the image and it’s description highly relevant to your website content.

A very interesting factor is that images can really influence a visitor psychologically. Images help draw in a visitors attention and help them remember your site via association with a specific image.
