Only valid for one day, Gap cut 25% from the prices of all the clothes in its retail stores for customers who checked in on Foursquare.
The Takeaway:Another good retail example of Foursquare adoption.  Smaller retailers, should be on top of the curve.

Peer Index Is ‘Worth Watching’; Silicon Alley Insider
This new tool uses the world of social media (blogs, twitter, facebook, linkedin, etc) to determine who are the “authorities and opinion formers” on the web.
The Takeaway: Peer Index could turn into a valuable back linking resource.

Delta Air Lines is now using Facebook to book seats; Seattle PI
Delta Air Lines launched the industry’s first social media ‘Ticket Window’ enabling bookings directly from its Facebook page and other social media sites.
The Takeaway: If this is successful, expect more brands to use Facebook page to drive offline point of sale purchases.

Google’s Mobile Query Growth  “Dramatically Higher” Than PC; Search Engine Land
During an investor webcast Google said that an “increasingly large” number of advertisers were doing mobile campaigns and that there was a “dramatic amount of interest” in mobile among those not yet advertising in mobile.
The Takeaway: Location-based businesses should keep an eye out for mobile PPC opportunities.

Twitter Rolling Out “You Both Follow” Feature; Mashable
As the name implies, this new feature shows you the people that you and another Twitter user mutually follow.
The Takeaway: This will make it easier for new users to find people to follow.
