The Takeaway: Facebook’s new take on groups is like Twitter Lists if they were perfect. With automatic notifications and the ability to have group chats and send out group messages, Facebook Groups becomes the perfect venue for personalized group sharing.

Apple Readies Verizon iPhone; Wall Street Journal
Apple is – FINALLY — making a version of its iPhone that Verizon Wireless will sell in early 2011 ending an exclusive deal with AT&T and sharpening the competition with Google-based phones.
The Takeaway: Think everyone had an iPhone before? Just wait. The Verizon iPhone will be enough motivation needed for those late-adopters who have yet to purchase a smart phone. Mobile strategies and app development will now have even more importance than ever.

Amazon Opens Store Inside Facebook, Reveals Next Huge Business For Facebook; Silicon Valley Insider
Amazon started selling diapers for Procter & Gamble through product pages inside Facebook late last week. The Pampers fan page on Facebook has a “shop now” tab on it, where you can just click, use your Amazon account, and purchase diapers through Facebook.
The Takeaway: While “Buy” Tabs are nothing new to Facebook pages, the ability to integrate an online store directly into the Facebook interface without having to go to another site is a new feature that more are likely to take advantage of. There is even speculation that purchasing within Facebook tabs could be the next major revenue opportunity for Facebook, with Facebook potentially taking a portion of the profits.
