Facebook Advertising – Who Should, and Who Shouldn’t

Tuesday, April 6th, 2010

By now, most advertisers are familiar with the basics of paid search advertising: you choose a list of keywords that you want to trigger your ad, select the maximum you’re willing to spend per click, and then instruct the search engines to match you up with people searching for your terms.  Since searchers are looking for a specific service or answer at the time of the search, paid search is great for transactional advertising such as generating sales or leads.  If you are offering exactly what the searcher is looking for, he or she is likely to convert.

400 million profiles, millions of status updates, billions of photos being uploaded and viewed – Facebook is huge, monolithic and truly, wide-reaching. Tuesday, February 9th, 2010

The activity levels at facebook are feverish. Facebook has been trying to experiment with a lot of hope page designs and has finally announced on the Facebook blog that it has taken to this particular set-up which is rather intuitive and simple to use. Use of the Top Menu and left bars The earlier Facebook design was a continuous stream of updates from friends, groups and the flooding of your personal space with random notes. The new set-up allows you to view your updates as a drop down menu and on the left bars. This new Facebook update should make it easier for you to find the information you need faster than ever before. The new notifications, friend requests, “join a group”requests, etc., will all appear with numbered red bubbles on the top left hand corner as shown in the snapshot below. (more…)
