Top Ten Foursquare Campaigns

Last week, Ruben and our VP of Development gave you an informative (and fun!) Introduction to Foursquare. Today, we’re giving you the top ten  campaigns we’ve seen yet on the foursquare platform.

10. Pepsi

In December 2009, Pepsi was Foursquare’s first sponsor ever. What did they do? They sponsored Foursquare’s NYC leaderboard and turned points into dollars. For one week, Pepsi donated $0.04 to CampInteractive, a non-profit organization that helps inner-city youth build technology skills. It was purely altruistic and helped out – not only a good cause – but put Foursquare in line for future sponsorship opportunities.

Foursquare Badges: Check-in and Earn It All

With a check in each second and counting, check-ins at various locations, and most interesting a sense of virtual achievement by winning badges for everything you do. I am talking about foursquare. Now, talking about foursquare is really incomplete if we don’t discuss the different kinds of badges that are awarded to users based on their activity levels, achievements, etc. Most of the badges are obviously proffered by foursquare, but rumor has it that very soon users will be able to create their own badges (this can only lead to chaos – 50 plus badges and counting?). Facebook Advertising – Who Should, and Who Shouldn’t

By now, most advertisers are familiar with the basics of paid search advertising: you choose a list of keywords that you want to trigger your ad, select the maximum you’re willing to spend per click, and then instruct the search engines to match you up with people searching for your terms.  Since searchers are looking for a specific service or answer at the time of the search, paid search is great for transactional advertising such as generating sales or leads.  If you are offering exactly what the searcher is looking for, he or she is likely to convert.

Your Facebook Fan Page: Not a Fan, But I like it?

becomeafanpicAccording to multiple reports on the web yesterday, Facebook is making yet another change to its interface.  They officially have no comment to the published reports, but the plan is to scrap the “Become a Fan” link and replace it with “I like” when you are joining a fan page of a brand.   Facebook is known for constantly tweaking its interface in an effort to keep current with the new media landscape.
