Avinash Conda speaks about how to correctly handle having multiple domains pointing to a single website. He discusses canonicalization of the domain names, the effects of backlinking for the multiple domains and how to properly 301 redirect multiple domain names. Unless the domains focus on distinctive different target audiences and products from the same database of information, this strategy is not recommended. I was recently looking for Kentucky Fried Chicken on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, NYC so I went to Google and did an exact search for what I was looking for. ”Kentucky Fried Chicken UWS”. I don’t recall ever having done that search before within Google so the result that I got was not from a learned behavior by Google.
Google Maps Mobile With Sponsored Links
While doing a recent search for “enterprise car rental Hackensack, NJ” on my iPhone, I noticed some interesting results. The Enterprise location had a special map marker, the Enterprise logo and “Sponsored Link” denotation. This is the first time I’ve experienced a sponsored link in the Map application on the iPhone but it has greater mobile implications.
New Reporting In Google Analytics
Some great new branding and reporting tools were added to Google Analytics around advanced reporting and analysis. The new features seem to be very helpful for companies trying to measure the brand they are trying to build.
