Reading: Some quick handy stats about social media and lead generation

Olivier Blanchard’s The Brandbuilder Blog is a consistent source of great articles on social media marketing. Blanchard favors detailed exploration of issues surrounding social media. Recent articles The 5 basic rules of calculating the value of a Facebook ‘fan’ and The petty tyrannies of social media illustrate the breadth of topics covered on The Brandbuilder.

This summary of Hubspot’s 2011 Hubspot’s “State of Inbound Marketing” report (PDF) highlights the importance of social media to both B2B and B2C brands, and how social media is replacing traditional channels as a means of lead generation.

Great article on social media and it certainly is “replacing traditional channels as a means of lead generation”. However, there isn’t really a good B2B social media platform, since almost all social platforms are for people to network together, and not really for trade and making deals between businesses.

I’m from MyTradeZone.com and we’re working to solve this issue. MyTradeZone is a B2B social networking site where businesses can sign up free and create their company profile, post their products, and follow other companies through the marketplace and community.
